Springwood, Wednesday June 16 1999, 6.32pm

A man observed a bright bluish-white light to the North moving northwest at an elevation of 30 degrees. It suddenly descended about 5 degrees and became much brighter, about twice the brightness of Venus. It remained for 2 to 3 seconds and faded away to the North. The entire sighting lasted 5 to 10 seconds and no sound was heard. As it faded away a dull orange glow was seen. The witness sails yachts and has had previous sightings.
