Red Hill Monday February 15 1999, evening

A man out walking saw a round bright golden light descend quickly from an angle of elevation of about 75 degrees to 15 degrees in about one second. It left no trail and made no sound. It seemed to go out suddenly, rather than disappear behind obstructions. It was estimated to be about one thirtieth of the size of the full moon, having a white centre surrounded by a golden ring with a poorly defined outer edge.
