Gold Coast, Tuesday January 18 2000, 10.00pm

Three witnesses observed two lights in the southern sky at about 45 degrees elevation moving west. The lights were below the clouds of that night and seen for about 2 minutes. The leading light faded as though entering the base of the cloud layer and seemed to change direction at that point. No sound was heard, and the lights did not resemble those displayed by aircraft. It was travelling from east to west and took approximately 2.5 to 3 minutes to travel from horizon to horizon. She was aware what satellites looked like but was sure this was not a satellite.
