Gailes, December 9 Tuesday 2001, midnight

A man reported hearing what he thought was a train with a funny hollow sound, whirring and echoing becoming louder and louder and eventually speeding past his home in the middle of the night. He raced to the window but saw nothing. He estimated the noise went past his house in 1/10th of a second and sounded like nothing he had ever heard before. There were no lights or illumination and no movement in the surrounding environment to mark it’s passing. He further described the sound as “a ball bearing in a tin spinning around and a whipper-snipper not touching the ground”. He knew it wasn’t a plane, rocket or car and the noise gave him a “hell of a fright”.
