Everton Hills, Sunday November 26 2000, 9.25pm

A woman hanging out the washing observed a bright light flashing intermittently in the western sky at about 60 degrees elevation. The light flashed about 4 times and then nothing more was visible. The flashes were as bright as strobe lights and lasted about one second. It was 5 to 6 seconds between flashes. After really bright flashes there were 2 dim ones and then nothing further was seen. The flashes seemed to emanate from the same place in the sky and were bright white. There was no moon light and the sky was clear. The flashes stood out against the starry background.
