Bateman Bay, Friday June 25 1999, 3.30am

A man who skippers a charter boat, and his wife observed a light performing unusual movements in the western sky for about 10 minutes. These movements included sudden changes in altitude, wavy and circular movements. For example it dropped from 55 degrees to 20 degrees in one second, paused for one second then ascended to it’s initial elevation in another second. Circles were traced out over a period of about 2.5 seconds and wave motion lasted about 1.5 seconds per wave. the moon had gone down and it was a perfectly clear night.
