Albany Creek, Thursday July 1 1999, 7.25pm

A woman driving her car observed what she described as a huge comet to the west moving horizontally to the south. The leading part of the object was a yellow-white ball shape half the size of the moon with a reddish tail. It was seen for about 10 seconds and no associated noise was heard. The apparent length of the tail was equal to 50 mm at arm’s length.
